What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?

Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is an oxygen session combining the inhalation of up to 95% oxygen in an environment with greater than normal atmospheric pressure. 


Hyperbaric Oxygen is used to treat all conditions which benefit from increased oxygen as well as infections where it can be effective because of its antibiotic properties.


With HBOT, individuals can absorb up to 10 times more oxygen which greatly enhances the ability of white blood cells to kill bacteria, reduces swelling, and allows new blood vessels to grow more rapidly into the affected areas. It is a simple, non-invasive, comfortable, and painless treatment.

    I was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis in April 2021. That is a lung disease where the airways of your lungs are stretched out. There is nothing you can do to make the airways go back to normal. My goal is to keep my airway clear of mucus. That is not as easy as it sounds. The first thing I noticed after just one visit to the chamber was my mucus was clear!! Which in MY case means no bacteria or infection! The first night I slept really good. After a few more visits I was scared to be excited about my energy level.. it seemed my fatigue was gone?? I visited the oxygen chamber a total of ten times. I waited a week after my treatment to write this account. My fatigue is GONE! I sleep wonderfully every night!! I can make plans for the first time in 9 YEARS!! I am Confident that I will remain bacteria and infection free.

    You can take a book or your phone in the chamber with you, I never did. I relaxed and was able to just breathe!

    I was suffering from long COVID19 symptoms, including shortness of breath, coughing, no smell or taste, body aches, brain fog and fatigue. I went to hyperbariccare.com and after the first treatment I could smell and taste! My dyspnea was better, I wasn’t using nebulizers as often and my body aches were gone. Those who have claustrophobia or  perhaps have ear pressure problems with flying. may be hesitant to use it.


But, not to worry as our chambers are completely in the user's control and you can let yourself in and out, but, be  assured that a staff member will always be there to assist. In addition, the chamber is large enough for two average individuals so someone with experience or a staff member may assist if necessary.

  • What is HBOT?

    HBOT is an abbreviation for hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is an oxygen session which enhances the body’s natural healing process by delivering oxygen under pressure, increasing the oxygen content in the blood and in the cerebral spinal fluid, flooding the tissues with oxygen.

  • Does Hyperbaric help lungs?

    Yes. The air pressure inside the chamber is raised to a level that is higher than normal. The increased air pressure inside the chamber helps the lungs collect more Oxygen. Getting more oxygen to the tissues that need it can help the body heal and fight infections. Adding the Oxygen Concentrator greatly enhances this effect.

  • How safe is HBOT?

    HBOT is incredibly safe. The most common problem experienced by people undergoing HBOT is problems equalizing the pressure in their ears.

  • What conditions can HBOT help?

    HBOT is FDA approved to treat air or gas embolism, carbon monoxide & cyanide poisoning, crush injury & acute traumatic ischemia, decompression sickness, delayed radiation injury, diabetic foot ulcers, enhanced healing of problem wounds, exceptional blood loss, gas gangrene, intracranial abscess, necrotizing soft tissue infections, osteomyelitis (refractory), skin grafts and flaps(compromised) and thermal burns. There are also many other benefits.  

  • What is Mild HBOT?

    Mild HBOT is hyperbaric oxygen therapy at low pressures, typically at 1.3 ATA – 1.5 ATA. Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy chambers at 1.3 ATA – 1.5 ATA health effects are greatly enhanced by adding Oxygen. This is done safely with an Oxygen Concentrator with 95% Oxygen.                                                                                                                                                                    

  • What is Hard HBOT?

    Hard HBOT is hyperbaric oxygen therapy at higher pressures, typically above 1.5 ATA. Hard HBOT is available in monoplace or multiplace chambers with 100% oxygen. (Usually located in surgical centers and hospitals.)

  • What's the difference between Mild & Hard HBOT?

    While Hard HBOT results in greater oxygen saturation in the tissues, many conditions respond better to Mild HBOT. In all of the clinical trials to date, there has been virtually no difference in clinical outcome between mild HBOT, especially with the Oxygen Concentrator with 95% oxygen, and Hard HBOT with 100% oxygen.
